He later worked as a social worker with elders with low income at the Department of Social Services for Elders, Tel Aviv Municipality and then at a Geriatric Center for elders with dementia in the city of Jaffa. His work, applied research, volunteering, and advocacy focus on enhancing the quality of care, quality of life, and safety of people living with dementia as well as educating their family and professional care partners. Throughout the past 12 years, he focused in various ways on improving understanding and the prevention of distressing and harmful resident-to-resident incidents in dementia in long-term care homes. His book on this phenomenon is scheduled to be published by the end of this year with Health Professions Press. His passion is in bridging between academia/research and practice.
